WYOMING, USA — An Idaho man faces drunken driving charges after police allege his semi-truck plunged into the Medicine Bow River in Wyoming, sending his passenger to a Colorado hospital by helicopter and a cat to a shelter.

According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol (WHP) , Matthew Berggren, 40, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence on Oct. 21 following the 4:03 a.m. crash on Interstate 80 near Elk Mountain.

Investigators stated that the eastbound semi-truck, loaded with potatoes, crossed the median before crashing into the river. A woman passenger was airlifted to a medical facility in Colorado. Her condition was not immediately released.
