Gian van Veen had a bloody ending to his European Championship semi-final victory over Michael van Gerwen.
Van Veen beat the three-time world champion 11-9 to reach the final of the PDC tournament on Sunday evening.
The Dutchman has reached his first ever televised ranking final, and will face Luke Humphries for the title.
Van Veen, who was 7-5 down at one point during the match, cut a delighted figure one his victory was confirmed.
However, speaking in his post-match interview, the 23-year-old showed how his darts affected him physically with a nasty wound.
He could be seen with blood on the tip of his right thumb when talking to ITV Sport.
"I've got a very heavy grip on my dart, which I love," he explained.
"But today, it really hit me at a wrong point, and I hold my dart here
