Michigan Wolverines running back Justice Haynes made a statement in his first matchup against rival Michigan State, going for a game-high 152 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries in a dominant 31-20 win on Saturday night.

It was a historic performance as Michigan racked up 276 total rushing yards — the most against Michigan State since 1994. The Wolverines were undoubtedly the more physical team, recording four rushing touchdowns and 5.8 yards per carry.

Michigan held a 10-7 lead at halftime before Haynes took over, rushing for 89 yards and two touchdowns in the third quarter. That was highlighted by back-to-back 20-yard runs to start the third quarter to set up a touchdown and extend the lead to double digits.
