Detroit police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that took place Sunday afternoon.

We're told the shooting took place just after 3 p.m. in the area of McNichols and Sherwood, just west of Van Dyke on the city's east side.

Right now, the circumstances surrounding the shooting are not clear.
