A Texas man is headed to prison forever after he brutally murdered his girlfriend and her daughter before going on a bender and acting like nothing happened.

Rene Mendez was sentenced to life in prison for the murders of his 40-year-old girlfriend Sylvia Ramos and her 19-year-old daughter Brianna Ramos, according to the Webb County District Attorney's Office . A jury on Friday convicted Mendez on two counts of first-degree murder and a judge sentenced him to life behind bars without the possibility of parole. The elder Ramos' brother flagged down a Laredo police officer on March 6, 2023, and began screaming "Come here! Hurry! Run! My sister was killed!"
