Nationals MP Barnaby Joyce has ruled out running as an independent after confirming he will be absent from the partyroom meeting.
Speaking to media at Parliament House, Mr Joyce revealed he would not attend the partyroom on Monday but would sit with the Nationals during Question Time.
“I'll be sitting with the National Party during Question Time because I haven't joined another party,” he told reporters.
Mr Joyce insisted net zero was still the "main issue" and did not speculate on whether he would join One Nation.
"I haven't joined One Nation, I'm still in the National Party," he said.
Mr Joyce revealed last weekend that he would not be contesting his seat of New England at the 2028 election and would be leaving the National Party at the end of the current term.
