LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - The Webb County Commissioners Court will meet on Monday, October 27, at 9 a.m.

County officials are set to discuss a rifle-resistant body armor grant, which would fund new body armor for peace officers working at Webb County offices, at the request of Sheriff Martin Cuellar. According to the agenda, the armor is needed due to a rise in active shooter incidents involving high-powered rifles.

Also requested by Sheriff Cuellar, commissioners are set to discuss a body-worn camera grant, which would fund more body-worn camera equipment for greater transparency for Webb County residents.

Lastly, county commissioners are also set to discuss funding to replace the old jail intercom system in the Webb County jail.
