GRAND RAPIDS, MI - High school football’s second season kicks off this week in Michigan, as teams from across the state put their first nine contests behind them and focus on the playoffs.
This tournament marks the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s fifth year using a playoff points formula, and six Grand Rapids-area teams – Hudsonville, Kenowa Hills, Lowell, Unity Christian, GR Catholic Central and Belding – made the most of the format by earning home-field advantage through the first two rounds thanks to impressive playoff point totals.
