ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) - The Asheville Fire Department reported that 150 straw mats had caught fire and temporarily shut down traffic in Buncombe County.
The department said that what looked like up to 150 rolled up straw matting had caught fire on Interstate-26. Traffic was shut down for about 15 minutes while the department contained the fire.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
Officials said no injuries were reported, and damage remained minimal.
