Brian Kelly's time with LSU is reportedly coming to quite an unceremonious end.

On Sunday, ESPN's Pete Thamel reported that Kelly is departing LSU after the team's 49-25 blowout loss to No. 3 Texas A&M the day prior. While LSU started the 2025 college campaign 4-0, the Tigers have since lost three of their last four games.

While there was talk after Saturday's game of Kelly's potential departure, things escalated on Sunday when reports surfaced that LSU was having discussions about the head coach's future. Kelly still had six years left on his 10-year deal with LSU and his ensuing buyout from the Tigers will be just over $53 million, the second-highest buyout in college football history.

In the aftermath of Kelly's reported firing, college football fans were enjoying the schadenfreude of the moment by bringing up a few of his more famous moments. Specifically, Kelly's fake southern accent he pulled out during a LSU basketball game for no real reason. His accent and hilarious pronunciation of the word "family" were quite a meme at the time, but college football fans were ruthless with the jokes after reports went live about his imminent departure.
