Daylight saving time will come to an end next weekend and people in much of the U.S. will get an extra hour of sleep.
Clocks "fall back" at the end of daylight saving time on Sunday, Nov. 2.
The change happens at 2 a.m. local time.
Daylight saving time lasts for a total of 34 weeks in the U.S., generally spanning from early-to-mid March to the beginning of November.
All but two states observe daylight saving time, including Illinois.
Only Arizona and Hawaii do not practice daylight saving time, though some Native American tribes in Arizona do observe it. Plus, U.S. territories including Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
A previous schedule for daylight saving was changed in 2005, thanks in part to the prevalence of trick-or-treating on Halloween .
