GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - The Pitt County Animal Shelter hosted its first trunk or treat event, with candy, games, and adoptable dogs.
Cars lined the edge of the shelter’s property Saturday with treats for kids and pups, while attendees (and dogs) came decked out in their costumes.
Adoptable dogs had the opportunity to interact with potential families in hopes of finding homes or making new friends.
Pitt County Shelter volunteers accompanied the dogs throughout the event and said they enjoyed watching the interactions.
“Oh my God, it’s my heart, Dogs are my amazing happy place,” Trisha Fravel, a Pitt County Shelter volunteer, told WITN. " I have five dogs at home, and so I do a lot of fostering and adopting of the older dogs. But I come in here and play with these dogs, teach them some
