Imphal, October 26 2025: The Samata Party Manipur State Committee has urged the Governor's administration to take strict action against officials involved in the demolition of the Manipuri Rajbari in Shillong.

The Manipuri Rajbari was where Maharaja Bodhchandra signed the Manipur Merger Agreement on September 21, 1949.The demolition of such a place integral to the State's history is highly condemnable and punishable, said A Ali, president, Samata Party, Manipur State Committee at Manipur Press Club, Imphal today.

The President's Rule administration must take strict action against Government employees involved in the demolition of the historic building, he said.

He said the strict action must be taken under the Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1965.When
