NORFOLK, Va. — Following the most recent Oncology Nursing Conference in Hampton Roads, where local nurses trained on new safety standards and cancer care practices, one oncology nurse says the lessons go far beyond the classroom.
Tiffany Hopper, an oncology nurse and Strategic Clinical Project Manager with Virginia Oncology Associates , says oncology nurses are at the center of cancer care, guiding patients through complex treatments while keeping them safe.
“Patients are living longer,” Hopper said. “So that’s amazing. But that also means now when you look at the care numbers and care delivery, those numbers also increase.”
