ST. LOUIS — The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers on Sunday rejected the latest contract offer by Boeing, setting the stage for the now 83-day strike to continue until an agreement is reached.

Union members of IAM District 837, which represents 3,200 striking workers, met Sunday to vote on a new contract offer from the aerospace company. It was the fourth vote held since the strike began Aug. 4 at plants in St. Louis.

In a news release, the IAM said the latest contract offer “failed to address core priorities of it’s skilled and dedicated workforce.” IAM President Brian Bryant said while the company claimed it listed to the workers in drafting the proposed agreement, the vote, which came without a recommendation, showed otherwise.
