Exploratory flood defence work in a Midland town are set to begin within weeks. There will be a combination of new protection and upgrades to existing flood barriers in Tamworth.
A recent model forecast a one-in-50 year weather event would result in property flooding.
The first stage will entail boring holes at 86 sites throughout the town to establish what substances lie beneath the surface. This will help decide what kind of flood protections are needed and where they should go.
