TEMPE, Ariz. — Thousands of families, supporters and community leaders gathered at Tempe Beach Park on Sunday morning for the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center’s annual YES Day Walk for Autism.

The event is one of the largest autism resource fairs in the state, centered around raising awareness, acceptance and support.

“It’s a really beautiful day,” said Stacie Wylie of Tempe. “There are so many different people supporting the autism community out here for SARRC, who’s doing the YES Day Walk for Autism… 60 different vendors that families can go around and learn more to get resources and support.”

Wylie said she loves hearing the kids sing and taking part in the one-mile walk.

“Just a really fun family friendly day,” she said.

The event holds a special meaning for Wylie.
