Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has clarified that the decision to conclude its service desk contract with Marks & Spencer (M&S) was made well before the cyberattack the British fashion retailer suffered earlier this year. TCS also stated that it does not provide cybersecurity services to M&S.
The tech giant said the commercial aspect of the service desk area represents an insignificant part of TCS’s overall engagement with M&S. Its own networks and systems were unaffected by the cyberattack suffered by M&S earlier.
The company’s statement was in response to a Sunday article by The Telegraph UK that claimed M&S had ousted TCS for the cyberattack that caused a loss of about £300 million.
