Record watch : Knox senior running back Myles McLaughin ran for 469 yards and seven touchdowns on 42 carries in a 50-21 win over Jimtown in Class 3A Sectional 25. Fourth-ranked Knox (10-0) will host Griffith (9-1) in a sectional semifinal on Friday. McLaughlin now has 3,603 rushing yards and 55 rushing TDs on the season and 10,596 yards and 158 rushing TDs for his career. McLaughlin could break Charlie Spegal’s all-time state rushing record on Friday. The former New Palestine star ran for 10,867 in his career, meaning McLaughlin needs 272 yards to top the state’s rushing list.
