A young woman who went to her GP 13 times before being diagnosed with bowel cancer has said she was repeatedly told she was too young to have the disease.
Milli Tanner, 23, was told by doctors she probably had piles, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or period problems when she actually had a potentially deadly tumour.
Milli, from Evesham, Worcestershire, first went to her GP in June 2021, aged 19, with stomach pains, lower back pain and blood in her stool.
She said: "They said that maybe I'd had a night out, had too much to drink, and that was irritating my stomach. But the bleeding carried on, as well as the abdominal pain … It was continuous.
