Five beaches in Maharashtra , Ladghar, Guhagar, Shrivardhan, Nagaon, and Parnaka (Dahanu) have been selected on a pilot basis for the international ‘Blue Flag’ certification, which recognises clean, safe, and environmentally sustainable beaches.
As part of the certification process, a safety audit of these beaches is being carried out. Audits of three beaches have already been completed, while the process for the remaining two will begin this week. The safety audit for Nagaon Beach is scheduled to start on Monday, October 27, followed by Parnaka (Dahanu) Beach on October 30.
The audit focuses on key safety parameters such as identifying safe swimming zones, ensuring the availability of trained lifeguards, and checking accessibility and essential amenities for visitors.
