The Election Commission of India on October 27 announced that Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls will be carried out across 12 states starting tomorrow.

The top election body had earlier announced that the exercise will be carried out across the country.

The states included in the second phase of SIR are: Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat and Rajasthan.

“All voters on that list will be given Unique Enumeration Forms by the BLOs. These Enumeration Forms will have all the necessary details from the current voter list,” CEC Gyanesh Kumar said during a press briefing.
