A massive fire on the night of Oct. 26 gutted the auto repair shop owned and operated by Dover Mayor James Dodd.
The three-alarm fire closed Route 46 during the response, which included the Dover Fire Department, police command staff and support from neighboring towns, including Netcong and Mount Tabor in Parsippany.
No injuries were reported, but the two-story building, located between the highway and Richards Avenue, suffered significant damage, including a collapsed roof.
Dover police, first to arrive on the scene, forced entry into he closed building in an effort to locate anyone in need of evacuation.
No cause of the fire has been reported. The Morris County Sheriff's Department and Prosecutor's Office Arson Unit were on hand to assist in the investigation.
