RICHMOND, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – An Eastern Kentucky University football player and his father were arrested over the weekend following an alleged assault after Saturday’s game.

According to the Madison County Detention Center, 22-year-old Charles Ingram V and his father, 47-year-old Charles Ingram, were both charged with assault, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief.

The Richmond Register reports that EKU Police arrested the two after the Colonels’ home game against Tarleton State. The school released a statement saying the player and his father allegedly assaulted a member of the coaching staff in the stadium parking lot.

University officials confirmed that Ingram has been suspended from the team while the investigation continues.
