President Donald Trump has arrived in Japan from Malaysia. His trip to Asia focuses heavily on trade.

He is looking to negotiate and strike a deal with China when he meets with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday.

If no agreement is reached, Trump has stated he will impose 157% tariffs on Chinese goods starting Saturday.

Currently, China is paying 55% on goods entering the U.S., and trade tensions between the two countries continue to rise. Beijing recently limited exports of rare earth elements essential for advanced technologies, prompting Trump to threaten additional tariffs on Chinese products.
