After the Dallas Mavericks started their season in a 0-2 hole, their fans were understandably upset at their team. When Spurs big man Victor Wembanyama dropped a 40-piece despite Anthony Davis and Derek Lively II’s presence, it was a worrisome sight. Losing to the Washington Wizards in their second game was enough to garner ‘Fire Nico’ chants again from the bleachers.

But if there’s one silver lining for the team, it’s their prized lottery pick, Cooper Flagg. He’s been good as advertised. The Mavs finally claimed their first victory of the season, defeating Toronto 139-129. Mavs guard D’Angelo Russell had a great reaction when asked by a reporter about Flagg’s performance.
