Udupi, Oct 27: A tragic accident near the Nittur KSRTC depot on National Highway 66 claimed the life of Sparsha (24), daughter of Padubidri ASI Sudesh Shetty, and left another person injured on October 26.

The mishap occurred around 8.15 pm when a car driven recklessly by Rakesh, travelling from the Karavali side towards Santhekatte, reportedly rammed into the rear of a scooter ridden by Sharmila (49), who had her daughter Sparsha as a pillion rider.

The impact threw both women onto the road. Sharmila sustained injuries to her arms and other parts of the body, while Sparsha suffered severe head injuries. They were rushed to a private hospital for treatment, but Sparsha succumbed to her injuries on the morning of October 27.
