For some guests staying at the Hilton Vancouver Washington hotel, scoring a room with a view won’t mean a picturesque city skyline or Columbia River vista. Instead, visitors will see the hotel’s new rooftop pollinator gardens.

The Hilton and Vancouver Bee Project worked together on the project. It included overhauling four large, raised garden beds and planting a variety of native flowering plant species this fall. They will bloom in the spring.

“We talked about how rooftops are a great place to put in pollinator habitat,” said Kyle Roslund of Vancouver Bee Project. “There are always people downtown looking for places to put in pollinator habitat, and it’s hard because it’s a lot of concrete.”
