The state Department of Transportation will close a portion of S.C. Highway 412 in Anderson County beginning Nov. 3 for a bridge replacement project.

The work to replace the bridge over a tributary of Big Generostee Creek is expected to be complete by May 2026.

A detour route has been established using S.C. Highway 181 and S.C. Highway 187. Only local traffic will be permitted on S.C. Highway 412, and motorists are urged to slow down and be mindful of workers in the construction zone.
