The next Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree will come from the Capital Region.

A Norway spruce from East Greenbush has been selected to travel to New York City and serve as this year's version of the tree, wrapped with more than 50,000 lights and topped with a star.

The tree will be cut on Thursday, Nov. 6 and will then arrive at Rockefeller Center two days later.

The tree will be lit on Dec. 3 and be on display until mid-January, when it's converted to lumber for Habitat for Humanity.
