LSU has fired offensive coordinator Joe Sloan the day after Brian Kelly was let go as the Tigers' head coach, the school announced Monday morning.

The move comes after athletic director Scott Woodward decided to elevate associate head coach Frank Wilson to take over the program on an interim basis.

Tight ends coach and run game coordinator Alex Atkins will take over as the play-caller for LSU, The Advocate has confirmed through a source with knowledge of the decision.

Sloan — a former East Carolina quarterback and Louisiana Tech assistant — worked as LSU’s primary offensive play caller for the past two seasons.
