NEW YORK (WABC) -- Curtis Sliwa has certainly made headlines over the last 40 years in the public spotlight.

From patrolling the subways as founder of the Guardian Angels to accusing John "Junior" Gotti of being behind a shooting that left him hospitalized.

But the biggest headline he is hoping to make is being elected the 111th mayor of New York.
