Jury selection begins Monday in the trial of a former New York state trooper accused of twice ramming his cruiser into an SUV during a high-speed chase on the New York State Thruway, causing the SUV to roll over and kill an 11-year-old passenger.
Christopher Baldner is charged with second-degree murder and reckless endangerment in connection with the December 2020 death of Monica Goods, 11, of Brooklyn.
Prosecutors say Baldner struck the SUV driven by the girl's father from behind in the town of Ulster, causing it to hit a guardrail and flip, killing Goods.
