DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) - Timothy Forehand announced his candidacy for Geneva County Sheriff in the 2026 election.

Forehand is running his campaign on living by example, strengthening transparency and trust.

He said the purpose of his plans stem from Matthew 20:28, "The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve."

Forehand said, "I intend to live by that example...to serve, protect and uplift every citizen of Geneva County and our surrounding communities."

Forehand cited the country's current issues with the law in his campaign announcement, like rising crime, drugs and lack of trust between people and law enforcement; he said he wants to be the one to fix that in Geneva County.

Forehand promises to bring trust and partnership with local schools, churches and local organizations.
