LOS ANGELES — What did Shohei Ohtani think of the jeering chant Rogers Centre fans serenaded him with at times during the first two games of the World Series?

“It was a really great chant,” Ohtani said through a translator on Sunday night here at Dodger Stadium when he met with the media in advance of his Game 4 start on Tuesday. “And my wife really appreciated it.”

If you were expecting anything more from Ohtani, you weren’t going to get it. The Japanese superstar notoriously is careful with his public comments and never ventures into areas that are controversial.
