Former champions Punjab & Sind Bank Delhi registered their first win in the 42nd Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament by defeating Indian Air Force 2-1, but the bank team was eliminated from the quarter-final race of the tournament on goal average despite winning this match.
On the fifth day of this tournament held at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar, Indian Railways Delhi defeated Army XI Delhi 2-0 to enter the quarter-finals.
The first league match was played between Punjab & Sind Bank Delhi and Indian Air Force in Pool B. In the 35th minute of the game, Jaskaran Singh scored a goal for the Bank to make the score 1-0. In the 37th minute, Rahul Rajbhar of the Indian Air Force scored a goal to make the score 1-1.
