CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The lawyer representing Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge is pointing the finger at Mayor Aftab Pureval after Theetge was put on paid administrative leave.

“Instead of investigating its outstanding police chief, who has an unblemished 35 year record of service, the city should be investigating why the mayor did not let her do her job, and why he repeatedly blocked her common sense efforts to reduce crime in the city,” employment lawyer Steve Imm told FOX19 NOW.

The chief was put on leave on Oct. 20 pending an investigation into the effectiveness of her leadership , according to City Manager Sheryl Long.

The City of Cincinnati hired the law firm Frost Brown Todd , a firm of over 600 attorneys with 18 offices
