Waking from a coma, he blamed his angry girlfriend for crashing car on purpose, police say. Now he’s dead

A car crash in Florida this February left Daniel Waterman critically injured and, for a time, in a coma.

Eventually he recovered enough that police investigators tried to communicate with him. He could barely talk, so police pointed to letters on a board while he made sounds to indicate which letters he wanted to use, his mother said.
