If breast milk-flavored ice cream wasn't enough, what about boogers?
Frida, a parent lifestyle brand known for its Breast Milk Ice Cream, released Boogie Bites Candy on Monday, Oct. 27. The sweet and sour gummies, which come in three shapes and colors, were designed to resemble "the real thing," a Frida news release says.
Boogie Bites are not the first of their kind. Jelly Belly's BeanBoozled, which hit shelves in 2007, has long been a popular game that pairs two jelly beans that look alike but taste drastically different. One of the original flavor combinations was booger and juicy pear.
Rather than a game, Frida released its gummies to promote NoseFrida, the brand's nasal aspirator that can be used to remove nasal congestion in babies and young children.
Frida made headlines this summer after releasing breast milk-flavored ice cream. Not actually made with real human milk, the ice cream featured a "sweet, a little salty, smooth, with hints of honey and sprinkles of colostrum, and features a distinct colostrum yellow tinge," Frida previously told USA TODAY. The ice cream was made in collaboration with OddFellows, a small-batch ice cream company based in New York. It is no longer available for purchase.
Where to buy Boogie Bites Candy
Starting Monday, Oct. 27, Boogie Bites will be available exclusively through GoPuff, a consumer goods delivery service, for $3.99, according to a Frida news release. The candies will be available in markets including New York City, Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Boston and Philadelphia, according to a Frida statement.
Do Boogie Bites Candy actually contain boogers?
No, Boogie Bites are not made of real boogers. The full ingredient list includes: tapioca syrup, cane sugar, distilled water, pectin, ascorbic acid, citric acid, natural flavor, turmeric (color), spirulina extract (color), salt, and fruit and vegetable juice (color), according to a Frida statement.
