The California special election to decide Proposition 50 is Nov. 4, and voting centers open across many California counties starting Saturday, Oct. 25.

Here is information on how to track your ballot.

How you can vote this year

All registered voters have received a vote-by-mail ballot in the mail. There are several options for returning your ballot.

You could return it by mail

California does not require stamps — ballots already come with prepaid postage — if returning your ballot by mail. But for your vote to be counted, it has to have been postmarked on or before Election Day, Nov. 4.

The Postal Service recommends that domestic voters mail their ballot at least one week before the deadline, when a ballot should be received by an elections office.

You could return it in person
