Two Virginia companies have formed a tasty-sounding partnership.

Hubbard Peanut Co. and Ironclad Distillery have released their limited-edition Ironclad Bourbon Peanut Brittle. The rich, buttery candy is infused with notes of caramel and a hint of smooth bourbon warmth.

Hubs was founded in 1954 by Dot Hubbard in Sedley, Virginia. The family-owned company still operates out of the house where it all started, though with an expanded facility.

Ironclad, based in downtown Newport News, is also a family-run business; it’s known for producing small-batch bourbons that are double-distilled and aged in new American oak barrels.

Only 2,000 cans of the peanut brittle are available for sale online, at The Hubs Vine store in Franklin and at Ironclad. The cost is $37.10 for 16 ounces.
