LSU football 's firing of Brian Kelly on Sunday evening resulted in a boatload of immediate rumors on who could be next in line to lead the Tigers.

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin nears the top of betting odds online. Kiffin was hired by the Rebels in December 2019. His record in Oxford currently stands at 51-19 following a 34-26 win at Oklahoma. Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall is also being mentioned by the oddsmakers. Currently in his second season with the Green Wave, Sumrall has a 15-6 record in New Orleans.

Other notable names include recently-fired Penn State coach James Franklin. Former LSU coach and 2003 national champion Nick Saban is also listed on one of the odds' list as a distant possibility. Saban retired from coaching in 2024 and is an ESPN analyst.
