WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A man is facing charges after police say he drunkenly fired a gun into the air multiple times while driving down a Woodbridge road Saturday morning.

According to the Prince William County Police Department, officers were called to the 15000 block of Illinois Road just after 10 a.m. to investigate gunfire in the area.

"The investigation revealed an occupant inside a dark colored sedan fired multiple rounds into the air as the vehicle drove down the road," police said in a release Monday morning.

While police found shell casings in the roadway, no injuries or damages were reported after the shooting.

A short time later, a person reported a man wearing a mask was banging loudly on their door along Maryland Avenue. Officers say it was the same person who had been shooting
