The Saginaw Spirit wore plenty of hats in claiming three consecutive wins over the weekend.
After Ryan Hanrahan scored his first goal in a 5-3 win Friday over Erie, Jacob Cloutier notched his first hat trick in a 4-2 win over Owen Sound.
Dima Zhilkin capped the week with a hat trick Sunday in a 6-5 shootout win over Windsor, adding a goal in the shootout as the Spirit improved to 5-4-3-2, good for a tie for third with Flint in the Western Conference West Division.
The Spirit will need whatever momentum they can muster heading into one of the most challenging home weekends of the season.
After a game Thursday against Flint (7-4-1-0), the top two teams in the OHL come to the Dow Event Center. Windsor (12-2-1-1) takes on the Spirit at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, with 11-0-1-1 Brantford taking on
