The driver of a vehicle that smashed into a seniors’ home on Ncholsville Road in Deer Lake fled the scene but has since presented himself to police.

The crash happened around 2:35 Saturday afternoon.

When police arrived, the driver and his vehicle were no longer on the scene.

The crash caused a front veranda to crash to the ground, but there were no injuries.

The 33-year-old driver is facing a charge of failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

RCMP say further charges are possible.
