Mangaluru, Oct 27: A one-and-a-half-year-old child accidentally fell into a well near the house at Mariyammagoli in Belma on October 26 evening. The child was rescued by her uncle and a local youth who bravely jumped into the well.
According to sources, the child was playing in the courtyard when she accidentally slipped and fell into the nearby well.
Hearing the family’s screams, the child’s uncle Jeevan immediately jumped into the well, followed by local youth Vivek Poojary, who helped pull the child to safety.
The courageous act of the uncle and the local youth in saving the child has drawn widespread appreciation from the public.
