The oaths of office ceremony was held on Oct. 25 following the Oct. 20 municipal election , which saw Ray Hilts voted in as the new Mayor of Whitecourt. Article content

“It’s an absolute honour to be the Mayor of Whitecourt and serve the community,” Hilts told the Whitecourt Star on Saturday morning.
“I’m humbled by the trust that our citizens have put in me, and I look forward to serving them for the next four years.”
According to the official results, Hilts won 988 votes to 787 for Derek Schlosser. The voter turnout was 25 per cent, down from 28 per cent in 2021, with 1,797 cit
