CBS Evening News co-anchor John Dickerson announced on Monday that he will be leaving the network at the end of the year after a 16-year run.
In a social media post, Dickerson said, “I am extremely grateful for all that CBS gave me—the work, the audience’s attention, and the honor of being a part of the network’s history—and I am grateful for my dear colleagues who’ve made me a better journalist and a better human.”

In a statement to staffers, CBS News president Tom Cibrowski said Dickerson “epitomizes the very best of journalism.” Cibrowski noted that Dickerson will continue with his duties, including co-hosting CBS News, “until the holidays, when he says farewell.”
