OLYMPIA, Wash. – The Washington State Patrol (WSP) issued reminders for families celebrating Halloween on how to stay safe this holiday and reduce fire risks.
“On Halloween night in 2024, Washington State recorded 11 structure fire incidents, results $186,000,” WSP wrote in a press release.
To stay safe and have fun this Halloween, WSP recommends choosing costumes made from flame-resistant materials, avoid costumes with long trailing pieces and keep decorations away from open flames.
“By taking a few simple precautions, we can all enjoy a safer Halloween,” WSP said.
