Congress MP Digvijaya Singh on Monday objected to the exclusion of the Aadhaar card in the second phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). He said that every citizen’s name must be included in the voter list and that the Election Commission should ensure the same.

Congress MP Digvijaya Singh said, “Our demand regarding the SIR that is being conducted is clear: first, the voter list being provided to us should include a machine-readable list so that we can digitally verify if any person’s name appears in two or three places. Second, in the certificates they (Election Commission) have asked for, the Aadhaar card has been excluded. We object to this.
